The anime is an adaptation of a manga series with the same name written and drawn by Shuuichi Shigeno. Initial D is a car racing anime series produced by a set of different anime studios. Initial D Battle Stage and Initial D Legend are only recommended to watch as a refresher and are not added to the watch order as they do not add anything new to the series.
